man 1: Theres no such thing as an AR3.
Man 2: Well see, the city was lousy with ar3's
Man 1: No it wasn't.
man 2: Yes it was. *matter of factly*
man 1: No it wasn-*sigh* do you know what the alternative fire method does on the AR2? It kills hunters. How did you city folk kill hunters?
man 2: We sure as hell didn't use guns! We would just wrestle hunters to the ground with our bare hands. I used to kill 10, no, 20 a day just usin' my fists!
man 1: Oh so when you're out in the field you're gonna be punching hunters?
man 2: IN THE FIELD?! I'm not goin' out in the field... I'm a radio operator!
Man 1: *long exasperated sigh* OKAY! That's it. LEAVE! *points to the exit* (30 seconds pass) Seriously. I'm not going to continue until you leave!

That's right. The first journal I write in months and it's a questionaire that I totally jacked from a few people.

100 QUESTIONS FOR ARTISTS

01. What is your pen name?
Well.. My DA name is Crow-of-the-Abyss.. soo that?

02. What made you choose this name?
LOOONG AGO... IN A DISTANT PAST! *cue Samurai Jack intro music*

03. Do you use PC or Mac?
I'd sooner use a Mac for body-armor than for any other function.

04. What programs do you use most often?
Paint.

05. Do you use mouse, or tablet?
I'm no good with digital art. I like the ol' analogs.

06. What color or color combination's do you find yourself using most often?
I'm aesthetically retarded soo.. Hideously bright colors! (I.e.: Blue and Orange) But I do prefer grayscale.

07. What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
Mostly the actual concept behind the drawing. Sure something I draw can look pretty but I want it to have a bit of depth or story behind it.

08. How long does it take you do draw a picture?
Since I'm not a REAL artist. 30 minutes +

09. Do you keep your rough drafts?
Ayup. I've still got most of my stuff drawn in Jr. High.

10. What font do you use most often?
Showcard Gothic. Reminds me of the good ol' text you'd see on buildings in the 1920's

11. When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
300 I suppose.

12. Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
Music and talkin' to folks on the interwobz.

13. Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
Not a whole lot. 5 if I'm lucky?

14. What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Printer/copier paper. It's a nice and white.

15. What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
8 1/2 by 11 inches

16. How long does it take you to ink something?
I try to avoid inking things when I can, mostly because I wind up screwing up in some way or another.

17. Do you do comics, or fan comics?
I would REALLY like to do comics. I have a few different story ideas for comics but no drive to draw them because of my lack of.. you know.. Artistic talent.

18. Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
I enjoy reading comics. >.>

19. Have you ever submitted anything to a magazine?
Nope!

I'm rather partial to the guy who did "Painter's Honeymoon" aand.. I dunno. I'm not good at naming artists off the top of my head.

Staples like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Gurren Lagann, Tokyo Majin. As for Manga.. Phantom, Flame of Recca aaand.. Hell. I don't remember.

23. Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
Pearls Before Swine, Dilbert, Charlie Brown (because he's more pathetic and lonely than I am ), Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Tailspin, Chip'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, Futurama, X-men Evolution, Mighty Ducks aaand.. Anything with Deadpool or Wolverine.

24. Any artists that you wish you could draw like?
Bailey. @_@ I'm wicked jealous.

25. Do you read a lot of books?
I find myself to be reading more and more as time goes on. I'm on my 5th or 6th read-through of Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. ._.

26. Did you ever buy a book to inspire or teach you to draw?
Nope, I'm too stubborn to learn from a book on how to draw. I need someone sitting there smacking me with a ruler.

27. Any video games you enjoy?

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Sort of. Mostly diablo II fanart where I redraw their pathetic weapons.

Only when I'm infront of the computer. I used to draw mainly at school and I'd get reamed out if I did.

33. Any recommended songs?
Whatever it is that gets your mind flowing. Particularly stuff with a good beat and some meaningful or at the very least, fancy lyrics.

Uhh.. not really?

Deviantart, Gaiaonline, Facebook, armorgames, and.. a whole metric crud-ton of webcomics. That's right, A. METRIC. CRUD-TON.

One that I didn't create.

I think I have really good ideas but something magical and terrible happens when I try transferring those ideas from my head to paper.

South Park, Futurama, Fraiser, Mythbusters, etc etc.

a tie between blue orange and purple.

nope. Virtual pets =/= real animals.

If it's computer related... I'm pretty good but if it's something like WHAT'S THE BEST DIGITAL CAMERA?! Then I couldn't tell you a lick about it.

I would BUT I just don't think I've got it in me. My creative juices don't flow quite as often as they ought to.

48. Are there any other jobs you're interested in?
I would absolutely LOVE to become a voice actor. Other than that. Something in the IT Biz or Videogame world.

Vidja Gaymes! Being a Pool-shark. The gills have yet to arrive in the mail. :/ Also looking forward to be making costumes or scarecrows. I avidly pursue being a bump on a log.

I can't narrow it down. I tend to like a lot of movies but a few would be The Shawshank Redemption, No Country For Old Men, aaand.. Fifth Element.

As good as his art is.. Wen-M. He has some neat ideas but overall his stuff is WAAAY too detailed in every area. Sometimes I can't tell what the hell I'm looking at.

When people push me to draw people. >.>

Telling people that they're delusional when they say they like my work!

69. What's the one thing that makes you grateful that the internet exists?
The social aspect and that you can buy goods that you'd be otherwise unable to find.

To avoid being cliche, I will NOT be saying Porn only because that's a given. The Ad's and the folks at Myspace.

71. What's your first drawing?
I can't remember what I first drew but I do remember what two friends of mine drew in kindergarten. XD They would take red-crayons and scribble on the pages for a good while and say they were drawing blood.

72. Any art you did prior to that?
Pipe cleaner sculptures and clay statues.

73. Has your style changed a lot since then?
I was five. I barely had command over my bodily functions let alone what my hands did.

I try to post the best version of a picture I can. Usually have to scan it a few times in different settings.

Nope.

I couldn't be a military pilot even if I wanted to. :/

I think autographs are silly, really.

I wouldn't call it a job but I clean at a friends house every other week.

I got away without taking art classes in Highschool! It's because I was a computer nerd. Most of us slipped pretty far under the radar. 3/4 of the people in school didn't even know where out room was.

Ugh. NTY. Performance anxiety.

I'm no tool, bro!
